Nominations are open now until February 13 at 8 p.m. EST! (Fandoms & Ships Tag Set | Kink Tag Set) And we have a couple changes this year:

1. For Signups: We’re no longer using “Optional Tags” in requests or offers, due to the number of administrative problems they cause for us every year. This means each request and offer will be limited to a max of 20 kink tags instead of 40. If you want more than 20 kinks for a specific fandom, you can request that fandom twice.

2. For Nominations: This year we’re implementing a separate tag set for kink tags, pre-populated with kink tags from last year. This is a smaller change -- it’s the same thing we did last year, we just didn’t use a separate tag set yet :)

Please note we’ve deleted some previous tags that were outside the scope of the exchange (Example: Alternate Universe - Witchcraft), and edited others for organizational purposes (Example: adding the “Kiss -” prefix to “Kiss - Desperate Kissing in the Rain”).

If you have questions about a deleted or edited tag, please let us know. We definitely won’t be re-adding the basic AU tags, but in general, it’s a big tag set and we’re not perfect.

• You can nominate up to 8 fandoms with up to 10 relationships each.
  
• Solo characters can be nominated in the relationships field with the format “Solo: Character Name.”
  
• Please avoid diatrics and piping in names. (YES: Wei Wuxian/Lan Wangji; NO: Lán Zhàn | Lán Wàngjī/Wèi Yīng | Wèi Wúxiàn) (If AO3 automatically saves it with diacritics, don’t worry about it though.)
  
• If there is an official English-language localization that differs from the original names, please use the localization names (YES: Ash Ketchum/Gary Oak; NO: Ash Ketchum | Satoshi/Gary Oak | Okido Shigeru )
  
• Disambiguating your ships/characters (Example: “Jinx/Silco (Arcane)” instead of just “Jinx/Silco”) is optional - mods will add or change disambiguations if we need to. If nominating with disambigs in an already-approved fandom, please check your disambigs are in the same format to avoid duplicate tags. (Example: if “Jinx/Silco (Arcane)” is approved, don’t nominate “Caitlyn/Jinx (Arcane Netflix Cartoon)”)
  
• RPF nominations must be for famous people 18 years old or older. Non-famous relatives or associates of famous people are not allowed.
  
• Nominate crossovers under Crossover Fandom, with the tag format “Character A (Fandom A)/Character B (Fandom B).”
  
• Original works nominations should be split by relationship category. Nominate under "Original F/F", "Original F/M", "Original M/M", and "Original Other or Solo".
  
• Tags with "&" will not be accepted.

• You can nominate up to 3 new kink tags.
  
• Kink tags should be kinks, sex acts, or otherwise clearly sex-related. These are not intended as general freeforms - general AUs and scenarios should go in your optional details.
  
• Please no fandom-specific kink tags, with exceptions for clearly sexual AU/fusion tags that can be used by a broad range of fandoms.

Notes on original works:
Same-gender groups should go under F/F or M/M.
Mixed-gender groups (for example, F/M/M, F+/M) should go under F/M.

If the genders in your tag are ambiguous, try to include the ship configuration at the end of the tag -- (M/M), (F/F), (F/F/M), etc. This will help us put tags in the correct place if they wander!

Notes on franchises:
Please avoid nominating fandoms as “All Media Types.”

Nominate closely-linked canons of the same media type under the umbrella name -- for example, Marvel Cinematic Universe instead of individual movies, and Star Wars Cinematic Universe instead of separating the prequel and sequel movies.

- All main Arrowverse shows go under "DC's Arrowverse"
- Final Fantasy VII Remake goes under "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII"
- Star Wars movies go under "Star Wars Cinematic Universe" (non-movie canons can be nominated separately)
- Full Metal Alchemist - please specify whether you mean Brotherhood & manga or the first anime.
- Marvel movies and the Disney+ shows go under "Marvel Cinematic Universe"
- Netflix Marvel shows go under "The Defenders (Marvel TV)"
- Buffy and Angel the Series go under "Buffyverse"
- Nominate Modao Zushi and The Untamed separately
- Game of Thrones and Song of Ice and Fire - Please nominate these separately
- The Witcher - Please nominate the novels, TV show, and games separately
- Dragon Age - Please nominate under Dragon Age - All Media Types. This is an exception to our usual AMT policy.
